The Sisterhood of the Traveling Hat

Indigenous Sister Sevanti moved to Boise, Idaho with her new husband last year and invited the Troupe to come see their new house and visit for four days in conjunction with a performance at the 2008 Goddess Fest.  Here are photos of the trip and fun we had:

We arrived on our "private" prop plane with three huge suitcases and props of our own.  Sevanti rushed to greet us and Sultan Alan tried to figure out how to transport all the ladies and luggage.

We arrived at their beautiful and spacious new house and immediately began to unwind, enjoying a incredible views of the Boise River Valley.

We hiked the Oregon Trail every morning, marveling at the impressions of the wagon wheel ruts still visible in the earth marking the passing of over half a million travelers West.  The very rough and rugged rock hewn Kelton Ramp down from the escarpment to the lush and refreshing Boise River below must have been very perilous for the wagons and their loads.

We got extra love from Sevanti's three LasaPoos and enjoyed the beautiful weather outside as we watched Nature's Power disappear behind Man's Power.

Sultan Alan lit a firepit for us to dance around, sending peace and prayers skyward.

We even got in a little practice in Sevanti's extra media room and a photo shoot outside before our performances.

We performed at the Goddess Fest 2008 with Nejwah's World Dance Troupe in two different line-ups.

A visit to the World Center for Birds of Prey brought the IndigeGals closer to the Spirit Birds who have inspired them and the need to support conservation for these beautiful animals.  More information on this foundation and how you can help can be found at  Birds of Prey.

Thanks to Nejwah for having us....Love to Sevanti for hosting us and...Goodbye from the Sisterhood of the Traveling Hat.

'Til Next Year!
