Desert Dance Festival  Saturday, September 16, 2006

Indigneous performed three of their AmerIndian dances, Eagle Calling, Raven Bones and Sword of the Thunderbird, at DDF which was held at the San Jose Civic Auditorium, 135 West San Carlos Street, San Jose, CA.  This two day festival, September 16 and 17, featured all-day performances, vendors, teacher workshops, a costume contest and Gala performance on Saturday evening.  Though the festival was sparsely attended,  Indigenous enjoyed being able to "spread their wings" out on the big stage and was warmly received by those who did attend.  Special thanks to Saida for the following photos of the performance.

Two of the IndigeGals, Bahira and Fara'Asha also performed with The Bennuvians in a tribal set of dances choreographed by Alcina, Director of The Bennuvians.  Thank you Shannon for these photos of Bahira and Fara'Asha (in green) in action.

IndigeGal, Zora (in blue choli), director and choreographer of Rakset Wadi al Shems also performed with her troupe.  Photos by Bahira.
